Short version:
Our Linux server goes down with our GForge installation on it :(
I get godaddy to put our primary drive into a usb enclosure so I can access our old files.
I go through over 8 hours of work to get the damn thing running again (as I write its about 12 hours of work… blah! )
A couple of main things that went wrong:
Different versions of GForge (5.x and 5.5 AS)
Different versions of PostgreSQL (thank god for our other box)
Partial installation of PostgreSQL
GForge deciding to delete some of my tables.
Me, freaking out because I thought I lost all our data.

So I am pretty amazing! We had a catastraphic failure of one of our servers (the linux one) a couple of weeks ago. This in its self wasn’t too bad, because we were not hosting any sites on it, and if we were, we would not have been messing around on it, installing questionable software all over the place.

So any way, I finally score away some time to work on the damn thing today (thinking it’ll be an easy job, haha jokes on me!) and it seems like everything that could go wrong did. So basically it turned out to be a reinstallation of GForge, using base code from a newer version and trying to get everything back together from a non backed up sql database (oh the whorer.
