Linux Saves the Day Again

Just another exclamation of how awesome I think linux is!

My buddy dropped his drive and Windows stopped recognizing it, and he was all like “OH NO!”

And I said “OH YEAH! Linux will handle this!”

So I simply plugged it in to my computer running Ubuntu 9.10 and it mounted no problemo.  We pulled off all the information and everything is backed up. Although it turned out to be easy this time, I believe that even if the partition tables were to have been knocked out it would have been a simple matter of baking up from the /dev/ using dd, and pulling all the information off of that misbehaving drive.
